this might be because I'm just that eccentric when planning projects, or it might be because its almost 2:30 am, but chatting with a friend right now, I'm trying to figure out how to turn a car into a dragon.
first thoughts are, don't think it will be street legal, so it would have to be detachable, and I'm not sure I want to do all that to my car.
which led to thinking about finding an old junker and rebuilding it then hauling it to a destination and using it there. and with an old junker, I could do MAJOR reconstructive "surgery" to it to really make it look like a dragon. or atleast a dragons head.
how about this, do this with an old truck so I can pull a tailor with it to finish up the body, once doing that, why not put seating in it to ride in? dragon shuttle from the parking lot anyone?
bloody crazy I am!
and the season begins...
I haven't updated recently, so before updating I'll uhh, give and update! I accepted the possition as the Site Coordinator for the St Louis Ren faire, now, if only that included a paycheck... I had to give up being the demonstration leader, but that was given someone I picked myself as a replacement. on stipulation to me taking the possition was that the executive oversight of demonstrations be placed under me instead of under the cast or education director. so I still have direct input into demonstrations.
The open house was this past weekend, not as many people signed up for cast as we could have hoped for, but there are a number of people that did imply an intrest for demonstrating. I'm also finding that I'm having issues setping back from leading the demonstrating.
I should be letting the new leader take control with me helping, yet its the other way around at this point. I guess a good starting point would be to talk to her at the staff meeting this week and ask her how I can be assisting instead of leading and to find out exactly how she wants demos handled.
Now on to site devolepment.
there are already a number of people wanting to get started on sitework, so I had set up this past sunday at the 1st site day, but I ran into 2 issues, first being the weather, right now, STL is expecting record cold temps, its just not safe to be working when its that bloody cold. the second is that this was going to be a winter clean-up day, gathering fallen tree brances, cutting them up and burning them in a firepit. thats the second issue, the local fire department has put a hold on ALL fire permits being issued, that means no fires, no easy way to dispose of all the fallen tree limbs.

A henchman eh, unto mine eye thou art a rogue so ‘twould it seem unto me; not a bad thing – mind ye – and I be sure thou art a jolly bully rook in an ale house all the same.
Sir Mikel‘Twould also seem that thou are a craftsman of not and that do bring ease unto thy pouch.
So bethink me, young Sir, thou art gifted by the gods.
